My kids were begging for some dessert shortly before supper, so I made these brownies that were a cinch to make. Before long we were indulging on the warm, chewy, chocolatey, dessert. They were a big hit and it was a perfect ending to our family meal time.
Double Thick Brownies with Chocolate Fudge Frosting
These thicker, chewy brownies slathered in a rich chocolate fudge frosting is a perfect way end to a meal.
Ingredients
- 1½ cups butter or margarine, melted
- 3 cups sugar
- 3 tsp vanilla
- 6 eggs
- 1½ cups flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 cups milk chocolate chips or chip flavor of your choice
Frosting
- 6 tbsp butter or margarine
- ½ cup cocoa
- 2⅔ cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 6 tbsp milk
Instructions
- Melt butter.
- Add the cocoa to the melted butter.
- Cook over low heat until mixture boils or becomes thick; remove from heat.
- Cool completely.
- Mix together the other ingredients.
- Add the cocoa mixture.
- Blend until fully mixed. Adjust if necessary for spreading consistency.

I cannot eat chocolate anymore (migraines) but my family can. I will make these for them. I may sneak just a small bite. I love chocolate, but it does not love me.
