As the seasons change, we get to enter another season of clothing as well. With cooler temperatures awaiting us as we leave our doors, we get to open another door to a different section of our closets. This leads us to warm sweaters and don’t forget the popular accessory–the scarf. Now I know some of you might be saying, “I hate wearing things around my neck.” Don’t give up on me quite yet. I think you will be surprised at all the different ways a scarf can be used and it won’t be choking you. 😊
Did you know that September 27th is National Scarf Day? Don’t feel bad, I didn’t either until just recently, but it got me thinking again about the whole drawer donated to scarves I have in my closet. They are a great accessory for most outfits. I have scarves that are thinner and can be worn when the weather is still a little warmer and you want to accessorize. I have scarves that will add a bit of warmth when you are heading out on those crisp days, and I have scarves that are purely decorative.
The great thing about scarves is that they can serve multiple functions. They can keep you warm if you need just a little something around your neck to keep the chill away, but they can accessorize an outfit without the need of additional jewelry. The fun part of wearing scarves is that there are countless ways they can be worn.
Check out this video that gives you multiple fun ways to wear a scarf. I know I found some new ways to try and they are not hard. That is truly the bonus!
Now that you know how to create all different looks, let’s add to your collection of scarves so you can put into practice the new ways of wearing one. Happy Scarf Day!!!
Of course there’s a day for scarves! They are essential! I love the tutorials with how many different ways you can wear them.
Thanks. I found the video very helpful as well. I love scarves as well!
I am such a boring scarf wear-er. The video is awesome so I know how to wear it more than one way!
I hear you. It was a great help to me as well. I tend to wear them only a few different ways as well. Can’t wait to give some of the new ways a try.
I love all the different ways to wear them. It was a little too hot on September 27 to wear one but I will celebrate this day as soon as the cooler weather comes in.
Indeed. Looking forward to trying out some of the new ways to wear them.
I love scarves! Great accessory item that can make the entire outfit.
So true. They make so many different kinds of scarves now and with the fun ways to wear them it can really add to an outfit.
I had no idea it was National Scarf Day…I’m always amazing at what creative folks come up with to do with scarves. Hopefully, I can copy them well!
There seems to be a day for everything. 🙂 I know I can’t wait to try out some of these looks as well.
I love wearing scarves! I didn’t wear many last year- breastfeeding a baby and scarves didn’t go well together for me LOL
I imagine. Hope you can get back to them this fall. 🙂
I can honestly say that I do no own a scarf. After reading your post, though, I got to thinking about their many uses. I think a scarf would make the perfect portable pillow, and I could always use a good nap. I may find myself purchasing one now. It would have to be one of those thick ones though. I don’t think one of the thinner ones you mention would get the job done…. 🙂
Very clever. 🙂
I guess I’m not very fashionable, becasue I’ve never thought much of scarves looking cute. I have only worn them for warmth. BUT I cnappreciatea cute scarf when I happen across one, though I don’t intentionally go out nd look for them 🙂
You’ll have to give them a try. Not only can they keep you warm but add a fun aspect to your outfit. 🙂
Haha I didn’t know National Scarf Day existed! They have a day for everything now though, makes things fun. Scarves are cool, definitely should incorporate more into my wardrobe.
I didn’t either until recently. What a fun day. A way to express yourself and spice up and outfit.
I never wore scarves before going to Ireland on a trip. I brought one and it kept me warm so I wore it most of the trip and haven’t stopped since 🙂
Isn’t funny how we can try something new and we wonder how we did without it before. 🙂
OI love my scarves! It is amazing how they really do warm you up, even the thin ones meant to accent an outfit.
That is so true. They just give the right amount of warmth needed.
I love seeing outfits with scarfs. Always so cute. I haven’t worn them just cause I will lose them but 2020 is the year to try scarfs because it can also work as instant face mask as well. lol
Good point. Scarves are so multi-purpose. Just love them. You’ll have to give it a try. Might be a highlight from 2020.
I love the look of a scarf but can’t stand the feel of something around my neck. I’ll have to experiment with some of the styles here to see if any of them would be loose enough for me to actually wear it.
I know a few people who struggle with things around their neck. I hope you can find some because there seemed like a few that give the neck a little more room to breathe. 🙂
I love scarves and until recently I had too many. Had to give some away. They keep my neck warm all winter.
I know I use them to keep my neck warm during the winter as well. Helps keep warm and be stylish all at the same time. 🙂
scarves are one of my favorite things to wear when the weather starts to change!
It really helps transition to the next season. So much fun to wear.
Great tutorial! I haven’t worn a scarf in so long, I am originally from NJ but now reside in South Florida so not much scarf wearing weather here.
Thanks. I guess you probably don’t need to warm up for the winter. 🙂 Maybe you will have to try a thin one and try out one of those shawl type styles. 🙂
I love scarfs. I have a feeling I will be wearing less this winter with working at home and all.
Perhaps you can sparkle up your working from home with a scarf. 🙂
Thank you for this! I love scarves, but always forget about all the different and cool ways you can wear them!
I hear ya! I often would wear the same couple of styles. I’m looking forward to trying out some new ways.
I never knew there was a national scarf day! How fun. I have so many scarves and can’t wait until it cools down to pull them out.
This week we are starting to get cooler. We are definitely entering scarf weather for sure. Enjoy your scarves! National Scarf Day was new for me too, but what a fun day to recognize.
Oh yeah! I am ALL about scarves!! Sweaters, scarves, turtlenecks – my favorites. And, I had no clue there was a National Scarf Day. 👍
You sound just like me. National Scarf Day was new to me as well, but what a fun day to recognize. 🙂
I love scarves and have so many of them. Mostly for warmth, but they are so cute, I need to get some lightweight ones to wear in warmer weather!
I know. I tend to gravitate to scarves during the cooler months, but I do have a few lightweight ones I can through on when I don’t need so much warmth. They are just as fun.
You look so cute in a scarf/ I have a million- I just don’t phlll them off!
Thanks. We all have our style, but maybe a new way of wearing it may make all the difference. 🙂
Thanks for the video! So many ways to wear them. I’m a sucker for any type of scarf.
I was so happy when I found the video because I often would do only a few different ways of wearing them because I didn’t know of other styles. Glad you found it useful as well. Enjoy your scarves.
I love scarves! They are such a great way to look stylish and stay warm. Thanks for sharing your ideas!
Thanks. I enjoy scarves for the same reason. Love the versatility.
Wearing a scarf has come back into our wardrobe quickly this year.
Indeed. For me as well. The temperatures here went from summer weather this weekend to very cool fall weather this week. Here come the scarves.
I can’t survive the Midwest winters without a scarf!
I agree. It goes from warm to cold pretty quickly.
I have a few scarves but I’m still struggling with the different ways to wear them. Thank you for including the great video for rookies like me so that I can learn a few ways.
I’m excited to try some new ones out as well. Glad you enjoyed it.
Love the video! I never knew there was so many different ways to wear one!
Thanks. I know it was great to see all the different ways that a person can wear a scarf.
Haha! I had no idea we have a scarf day! Super fun! I love winter scarves!
I know right. These special days are just fun ways to celebrate the simple and unexpected things.
These are beautiful ways to wear a scarf. Thanks.
Thanks. I found that to be very helpful as well. Many ways I didn’t like of before either.
I absolutely love scarves. Have for years – even when they weren’t a fashion accessory. I have scarves that are over 30 years old! Enjoy wearing them all the time. Thanks for the post. It was fun to go through.
Glad you enjoyed this post. You were a trend setter. 🙂
Thanks! I love finding new ways to wear my scarves!
Glad you found it helpful!
Scarves are a light packing secret for me on trips…changes and outfit completely and takes up so little space. No one knows you have the same clothes after a spot clean on two days later at dinner.
I bet that is a great way to change up and outfit without having a lot of other things to pack in. Great idea.
I do love scarves! And I love that fall is here so I can bring my scarves out.
Scarves are so much fun and fall just seems like the perfect time to start wearing them again.
Love a scarf! Love new ways to tie the scarf!
Hi Barbara, So do I. I’m excited to try out some of the new ways to tie a scarf.
